Ants in Santa Clarita

Ants are the number one pest call in the Santa Clarita Valley. Argentine ants are the usual culprit — they form massive interconnected colonies and send scouts indoors looking for water and sugar, especially when it gets hot or when it rains.

Why store spray makes it worse

Spraying the trail kills the ants you can see and triggers the colony to split — a stress response called budding. You end up with more satellite colonies in more places than you started with. It's the single most common thing we're called in to undo.

What actually works

Baiting, so workers carry the material back to the colony, combined with an exterior barrier at the entry points. It's slower than a spray for the first few days and far more effective by week two.

Signs you have a colony, not just visitors

Persistent trails along the same route, activity that returns within hours of cleaning, ants appearing in multiple rooms, or winged ants indoors.
